Veraestau, a Greek Revival brick and frame dwelling in Center Township, Dearborn County, Indiana, was built in 1838 by Allen Hamilton on the site of an earlier log cabin that had burned that same year. The two-story house incorporates a brick extension from the original 1810 structure and represents a transitional moment in the property's architecture. Originally built by Jesse Lynch Holman, the home became notable as the birthplace of his son, Congressman William S. Holman. Subsequent expansions—a two-story addition in 1913 and a three-room brick addition in 1937—extended the residence. The property also features contributing outbuildings including a 1937 stable and carriage house, alongside an Indian mound, family cemetery, and kiln remains. Designated to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, Veraestau is now owned and operated by Indiana Landmarks as their Southeast field office and is available for rental.
