The Vermillion County Courthouse in Newport, Indiana, is a Neoclassical structure built between 1923 and 1925 to replace its predecessor, which was destroyed by fire the previous year. Designed by architect John B. Bayard in the Classical Revival style, the building features Corinthian columns spanning its second and third floors across the front façade and clocks positioned along the roof line on each side. Since its completion, it has served as the seat of Vermillion County government and remains one of 84 historic county courthouses still standing in Indiana. The courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007 and is nearly identical in design to the Sullivan County Courthouse.
