The Vickery Building stands at 261 Water Street in downtown Augusta, Maine, a granite commercial structure completed in 1895 to a design by architect John C. Spofford. Built for Peleg O. Vickery, a prominent publisher and three-term mayor of Augusta, the building exemplifies Renaissance Revival architecture and rises to a height of approximately 72 meters. Its granite construction distinguishes it as one of the few commercial buildings of its era in downtown Augusta. The structure was recognized for its historical significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
