Villa Valmarana, a Renaissance villa in Lisiera (Bolzano Vicentino), Vicenza province, was designed by Andrea Palladio in the 1560s for the Valmarana family. Though Palladio published plans for it in his *I quattro libri dell'architettura* (1570), the executed building diverged from those designs, possibly because the patron Gianfrancesco Valmarana died during construction. Nearly destroyed in World War II, the villa was subsequently rebuilt. It remains part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and exemplifies Palladian architectural principles.
