The Protestant Vineyard Church "Zum Heiligen Geist" in Dresden's Pillnitz district is a baroque village church built in 1723 to replace an earlier chapel demolished for the expansion of Pillnitz Palace. Designed by Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann—architect of the renowned Dresden Zwinger—it was his first executed church building and stands as a landmark within the Royal Vineyard landscape. After falling into serious disrepair in the late twentieth century, the structure underwent extensive restoration in the 1990s and now remains a protected heritage monument integral to the cultural landscape of the Dresden Elbe Valley.
