Wadsworth Chapel, located on the campus of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in West Los Angeles, is a Carpenter Gothic structure built in 1900 that housed two sanctuaries—one Catholic and one Protestant—under a single roof. The oldest building on Wilshire Boulevard, it was severely damaged during the 1971 Sylmar earthquake and subsequently closed. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, the chapel has since deteriorated due to insufficient funding for necessary repairs and restoration by the Veterans Affairs department.
