The Walcott-Whitney House in Stow, Massachusetts, is a timber-frame dwelling built around 1720–30 that exemplifies late First Period domestic architecture. Rising 2½ stories with five bays and clapboard siding, the house features a side gable roof and distinctive saltbox profile created by a rear leanto. Its most prominent element is a large central chimney; the front façade, though asymmetrical, centers on an entrance embellished with a Federal-period surround of sidelights, pilasters, and a corniced entablature. The house is particularly distinguished by its well-preserved front staircase. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, it stands as a notably intact example of early eighteenth-century New England residential building.
