Located at 27 Church Street in Warren, Rhode Island, the Warren United Methodist Church and Parsonage comprise two historically significant structures associated with early American Methodism. The church itself, begun in 1789 under Rev. Daniel Smith, was the first Methodist congregation in Rhode Island and the second in all of New England. The present Greek Revival building, with its distinctive full temple front, was constructed in 1844 by Perez Mason, an architect from Fall River, Massachusetts. The accompanying parsonage, a two-story Italianate structure, was added in 1858 by the Warren architectural firm Hoar & Drown and built by the related firm Hoar & Martin. Both buildings were designated to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
