West Chester, a residence in Des Moines completed in 1903, exemplifies Jacobethan Revival architecture through its distinctive design inspired by half-timbered homes in Chester, England. Designed by Boston architect William George Rantoul, the house features five prominent gables and dormers rising above the ridged roofline, three tall chimneys with separate flues, and two gabled wings on the south elevation. The building gained attention in contemporary publications following its completion and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
