Whitehead Light is a lighthouse located on Whitehead Island in Maine's Penobscot Bay, established in 1804 as one of the state's oldest light stations. The present tower, standing 12 meters tall, was constructed in 1852 to a design attributed to architect Alexander Parris. Situated in the town of St. George on Muscle Ridge Channel at the southwestern entrance to Penobscot Bay, the station was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. Today, the property is owned by the nonprofit Pine Island Camp, which operates it as a vacation destination while the light remains an active navigational aid maintained by the United States Coast Guard.
