Located in Fairfield, Iowa, the William and Mary Jane Louden House is a 2½-story Queen Anne frame dwelling constructed between 1896 and 1897 by builder C.E. Ward. The house derives its historical significance from William Louden, an inventive industrialist who co-founded the Louden Machinery Company with his brother R.B. and obtained over 100 patents for agricultural innovations, including early designs for hay-stacking and hay-carrying equipment that brought the firm national prominence in barn construction and farm machinery. The residence was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
