Built around 1839 in Laurens, South Carolina, the William Dunlap Simpson House is a three-story Greek Revival clapboard dwelling designed as a town residence for a planter. The three-bay façade encompasses twelve rooms across its austere, classically proportioned elevation. The house later became the home of William Dunlap Simpson (1823–1890), who served as both a U.S. Congressman and Governor of South Carolina. Recognized for its architectural and historical significance, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and remains part of the Laurens Historic District.
