The William Henry Luick Farmhouse, a two-story brick dwelling built in 1882 in Muncie, Indiana, exemplifies the Italianate style popular in the nineteenth century. The three-bay structure features a limestone-faced fieldstone foundation, round arch windows, and a reconstructed full-width front porch characteristic of its period. Originally the home of William Henry Luick, a farmer and horticulturist of German descent who had migrated from Winchester, Indiana, and his wife Anna, the farmhouse gained additional distinction when a gas well was discovered on the property during the Indiana gas boom. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994, it stands as a testament to rural domestic architecture and agricultural enterprise in late-nineteenth-century Indiana.
