The William Hood House in Santa Rosa, a Colonial Revival residence built in 1858, was constructed from bricks manufactured on-site and originally anchored a modest agricultural compound that included an adobe building, vineyard, and winery—all now lost. Designated California Historical Landmark No. 692 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998, the house passed through several notable owners, including U.S. Senator and mining magnate Thomas Kearns, before the Knights of Pythias acquired it in 1924. The property was subsequently sold to Los Guilicos School for Girls in 1943, and restoration efforts undertaken by 2008 were intended to make the house accessible to the public.
