Built in 1900 in Victoria, Texas, the William Wheeler House is a Neoclassical residence designed by architect Jules Leffland for English immigrant William Wheeler, a water systems engineer who became superintendent of Victoria's Water Department. The Classical Revival structure features a wrap-around porch and wood siding scored to resemble stone, reflecting period craftsmanship. Wheeler and his wife Emma Hauschlld occupied the home with their six children until 1982. The house was recognized for its historical significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 as part of a comprehensive survey of Victoria's historic resources.
