The Ellis Hotel, formerly the Winecoff Hotel, is a 15-story Neoclassical structure designed by architect William Lee Stoddart and completed in 1913 in downtown Atlanta. Located at 176 Peachtree Street NW, the building stands adjacent to the landmark Davison's department store. The hotel is historically significant both for its architectural merit and its tragic association with a devastating fire on December 7, 1946, that claimed 119 lives. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009 and recognized as a Historic Hotel of America in 2023.
