The Wirt County Courthouse in Elizabeth, West Virginia is a neoclassical brick structure erected following the destruction of its predecessor by fire on May 15, 1910. Designed and built by B.F. Smith's company, the courthouse exemplifies early twentieth-century civic architecture with its two-story columned pediment and crowning clock tower. As the most prominent building in this small community of fewer than 1,000 residents, it has been recognized for its historical significance and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
