The Yavuz Selim Mosque is a 16th-century Ottoman imperial mosque completed in 1527, situated at the summit of Istanbul's fifth hill in the Çukurbostan neighborhood, where it commands views over the Golden Horn. Built in Ottoman architectural style using dimension stone, granite, and marble, the mosque's prominent location and substantial scale have made it a distinctive landmark on the Istanbul skyline since its construction.
