The Holy Mother of God Church, commonly known as Yeghvard Church, stands at the center of Yeghvard in Armenia's Kotayk Province. Completed in 1301 by medieval Armenian architect Vardapet Shahik under the patronage of the Zakarid dynasty, this medieval Armenian structure was built to commemorate the millennium of Christianity's establishment as Armenia's state religion. It functioned as a replacement church for the nearby ruined Katoghike Church, a larger three-nave basilica dating to the fifth and sixth centuries. Today it remains a cultural heritage monument.
