Built in 1863 by Moravian immigrants from Hopedale, Pennsylvania, the Zoar Church in Laketown Township, Minnesota, exemplifies the Greek Revival style characteristic of early public buildings in the state. The structure underwent modification in 1908 when its steeple was repositioned forward to create a dedicated bell tower. Though the original congregation disbanded in the 1940s, the building remains actively maintained and used by the Waconia Moravian Church. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
