The Al-Mahdi Mosque, built in 1651 in the historic old city of Sanaʿa, Yemen, is an important example of Islamic architecture within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Old City of Sanaʿa. Located in the Al-Kareem Al-Mahdi neighborhood of the western Sarar district, the mosque was constructed by order of Imam Mahdi Abbas bin Mansour. A tomb was added to the complex following the imam's death in 1768, transforming it into a significant religious and commemorative structure that remains integral to Sanaʿa's architectural heritage.
