The Alhambra Theatre, a Moorish Revival movie palace designed by Timothy L. Pflueger, opened on November 5, 1926, at 2330 Polk Street in San Francisco. The ornate structure exemplified the exotic architectural fantasies that characterized cinema palaces of the Jazz Age, drawing on Islamic design traditions to create an immersive theatrical environment. Designated a San Francisco landmark in 1996, the building survives today as a Crunch Fitness gym that continues to show films on its original screen, preserving both its architectural heritage and cultural function within the city's entertainment landscape.
