The Anzeiger-Hochhaus is a modernist tower block completed in 1928 in Hannover's Mitte district, designed by Johann Friedrich Höger as a newspaper building and planetarium. Rising 51 metres, this steel-framed structure exemplifies the Backsteinexpressionismus (brick expressionism) style that characterised German expressionist architecture of the period. The building's dramatic massing and material language reflect the bold aesthetic ambitions of Weimar-era commercial architecture. Today it stands as an architectural heritage monument in Lower Saxony, preserving an important chapter in early twentieth-century German modernism.
