Located in Hamburg's Kontorhaus District, the Chilehaus is a ten-story office building completed in 1924 by architect Fritz Höger. This striking example of 1920s Brick Expressionism commands a site of approximately 6,000 square meters, spanning the Fischertwiete Street with its characteristically large angular forms. The building's bold geometric design exemplifies the expressionist movement's architectural vocabulary. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015 as part of the Kontorhaus District, the Chilehaus remains a heritage monument in Hamburg and stands as a landmark of interwar commercial modernism in Germany.
