Aparank Monastery, an Armenian religious complex in the Van province of modern-day Turkey near Bahçesaray, was founded in the 10th century to preserve a relic of the True Cross. Built in the Armenian architectural tradition, the monastery was restored and expanded during the 17th century. Before its abandonment in the early 20th century following the Armenian genocide, the site comprised multiple structures including the churches of St. John the Baptist and the Holy Mother of God, chapels dedicated to St. Stephen and the Holy Apostles, a gavit (a traditional Armenian covered hall), a fountain, and a hotel.
