Makravank is an Armenian monastic complex in Hrazdan, the capital of Kotayk Province, Armenia, founded in the early tenth century. The surviving structures exemplify Armenian architectural traditions and include a half-ruined eleventh-century chapel and a thirteenth-century church dedicated to Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God), distinguished by its circular tambour and conical cupola. The complex preserves the lower walls of a gavit, a distinctive Armenian covered hall, as well as remains of a medieval cemetery, offering a layered record of Armenian monastic life spanning several centuries.
