The Arshakid Kings Mausoleum and Basilica, located in the village of Aghtsk in Armenia's Aragatsotn Province, is a funerary complex commanding a gorge overlooking the Amberd River. Built in the Armenian architectural tradition, the monument once housed the remains of both Christian and pagan rulers of the Arshakid dynasty. The site comprises a mausoleum and basilica, complemented approximately one hundred meters to the north by a shrine positioned along a path descending to a gorge containing caves from the 16th–18th centuries, some of which were fortified with doors and served as refuge during the period of invasions.
