The B. B. Moeur Activity Building stands on the campus of Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, as a landmark of 1930s Moderne design. Built between 1936 and 1939 through the Works Progress Administration, the structure was designed by the architectural firm Lescher & Mahoney in adobe—a choice that made it the largest WPA-built adobe building in Arizona. Its early listing on the National Register of Historic Places in September 1985, achieved ahead of the standard 50-year waiting period, reflected recognition of its exceptional architectural and historical significance as both a Depression-era work project and a distinctive regional modernist achievement.
