The Baitul Hameed Mosque, located east of Los Angeles in Chino, California, is the largest Ahmadiyya Muslim mosque in the Western United States, encompassing 19,000 square feet on nearly 5 acres. Built in 1989 at a cost of $2.5 million through donations from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Spanish-inspired structure showcases Moorish architectural elements and sits beneath the scenic San Gabriel Mountains. Following an electrical fire in 2003 that damaged its front library, office, and kitchen facilities, the mosque was rebuilt with a second story and reopened for full use in August 2009. The complex includes the main prayer hall, an auxiliary hall for Lajna Imaillah, a commercial kitchen, and a missionary residence, with plans for an NCAA-sized basketball court on the grounds.
