Located at 4th & Walnut Street in downtown Cincinnati, the Renaissance Cincinnati Downtown Hotel—originally the Union Trust Building and later known as the Bartlett Building—is a 19-story neoclassical tower designed by D. H. Burnham & Company and completed in 1901. Upon its dedication on January 1, 1901, it became the tallest building in Ohio, holding that distinction for three years. The building passed through multiple identities and owners over more than a century, including a 2006 sale and a period of foreclosure and vacancy beginning in 2010. In 2013, it was acquired for conversion into a luxury hotel, reopening in July 2014 as a Renaissance Hotels property with 283 rooms, 40 suites, and meeting facilities. The on-site restaurant, D. Burnham's, honors the building's architect Daniel Burnham.
