Bethany Memorial Chapel stands in rural Latah County near Kendrick, Idaho, a Carpenter Gothic church built by Norwegian homesteaders who organized a Lutheran congregation in 1902. Construction began in 1905 on land donated by Halvor Nelson and was completed in 1908, though the first service—a wedding—took place in 1905 before interior work finished. The interior features hand-carved pews, altar railing, and pulpit created by congregation member Eric Leien. Originally named the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethany Congregation of Kendrick, the building no longer hosts an active congregation but remains maintained by community members alongside its cemetery. The chapel was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
