Built in 1890 on Chapel Hill Road in the Lower Merryall section of New Milford, Connecticut, the Merryall Union Evangelical Society Chapel stands as the town's finest example of Carpenter Gothic architecture. This modest wooden chapel, with its characteristic delicate wooden detailing and pointed-arch forms typical of the style, was designed to serve the local evangelical community. Originally functioning as a place of worship, it has evolved into a versatile community space, hosting summertime services conducted by visiting ministers of various denominations alongside weddings and private events. Recognized for its architectural and historical significance, the chapel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
