Completed in 1929 and designed by architect Bruce Goff, the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma, is among the finest examples of ecclesiastical Art Deco architecture in the United States. Built for a congregation of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, the fifteen-story structure combines modernist geometric forms with religious symbolism characteristic of the Art Deco style. Its architectural significance led to its listing on the National Register of Historic Places and its designation as a National Historic Landmark in 1999.
