The ruins of Brahehus Castle overlook Lake Vättern from a dramatic perch 270 meters above sea level, near Gränna in Jönköping County, Sweden. Built in the 1640s for Count Per Brahe the Younger, the château commanded sweeping views across the water to the island of Visingsö. Abandoned by the 1680s, the castle was destroyed by fire in 1708, leaving only its ruins—now registered as an ancient monument and a popular destination for tourists drawn to its elevated panorama and historical significance.
