The Brandaris, a brick lighthouse standing 52 metres tall on the Wadden Sea island of Terschelling in Friesland, is the oldest lighthouse in the Netherlands. Built in 1594, it has been designated a Rijksmonument and is recognized as a structure of very high historical value.
