The Buenos Aires Botanical Garden, located in the Palermo neighborhood and officially named after its designer Carlos Thays, was established in 1898 as an Art Nouveau composition. Its distinctive triangular layout, bounded by Santa Fe Avenue, Las Heras Avenue, and República Árabe Siria Street, encompasses nearly 17.2 acres and showcases approximately 5,500 plant species alongside sculptures, monuments, and five greenhouses. Declared a national monument in 1996, the garden represents a notable example of early modernist landscape design in South America.
