Situated in Buenos Aires's Montserrat district, the Legislature Palace houses the city's legislative body and stands as a landmark on a triangular block bounded by Hipólito Yrigoyen Street, Presidente Julio A. Roca Avenue, and Perú Street. Designed by architect Eduardo Le Monnier in the Beaux-Arts and Neoclassical styles, the building is constructed of grey granite and designated a National Historical Monument of Argentina. Its interior features the Esteban Echeverría Library and the Salón Rosado, also known as the Eva Perón Hall, as well as a carillon installed in 1930 that was then the largest in South America. The palace welcomes public visits on weekdays.
