Cape Race Lighthouse, a 29-meter concrete tower built in 1856, stands on the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland and marks one of Canada's busiest shipping lanes. The active light displays a single white flash every 7.5 seconds, with a foghorn sounding two blasts every 60 seconds during fog. Recognized as a federal heritage building and national historic site of Canada, the lighthouse now serves as both an essential navigational aid and a popular tourist destination.
