Constructed in 1591 in Hyderabad, the Charminar—a granite monument whose name translates to "four minarets"—stands as an iconic symbol of the city and the state of Telangana. The structure exemplifies Islamic architecture, featuring four ornate minarets supported by grand arches. A mosque has occupied its top floor for over 434 years, making it both historically and religiously significant. Situated on the east bank of the Musi River, the Charminar is surrounded by the bustling Laad Bazaar and adjacent to the Makkah Masjid, and has become one of Hyderabad's most frequented tourist destinations. It hosts major festival celebrations including Eid-ul-adha and Eid al-Fitr, and is designated a Monument of National Importance by India's Archaeological Survey.
