Château de Lussac stands at the heart of the village of Lussac in Gironde, within the Lussac-Saint-Emilion appellation, one of Bordeaux's satellite wine regions. The main building, constructed in 1876 by vintner Gascon Montouroy, is distinguished by its striking architecture. The property passed to Montouroy's son-in-law, the Marquis de Sercey, and remained in that family until the 1980s, when Olivier Roussel purchased it and managed the vineyard for approximately fifteen years. Since 2000, Griet and Hervé Laviale have owned the château, which encompasses thirty hectares of mature vines averaging thirty years in age. Planted on the naturally well-drained limestone plateau, the vineyard comprises seventy-seven percent Merlot and twenty-three percent Cabernet Franc.
