Situated in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques département of southwestern France, the Château de Morlanne is a formidable 14th-century fortress designed by Sicard de Lordat. Built in brick, it presents a striking polygonal defensive enceinte punctuated by gateways and surrounded by moats, with a commanding central keep dominating the composition. The castle's interior courtyard remains a focal point of its layout, while a manor house constructed at the end of the 16th century occupies the inner precinct, reflecting the gradual evolution of military architecture toward domestic comfort. Designated a monument historique in 1975, the restored castle now welcomes visitors.
