Château Saint-Louis in Quebec City's La Cité-Limoilou district was the official residence of successive colonial governors—first the French Governor of New France, later the British Governor of Quebec, the Governor-General of British North America, and the Lieutenant-Governor of Lower Canada. Built in the Palladian architectural style, this structure served as the seat of executive power through pivotal transitions in Canada's political history. The site was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2002, recognizing its significance to the nation's heritage.
