The Church of Saint Apostles Peter and Paul, situated on a hill in Ras, the medieval capital of the Serbian Grand Principality, stands as the oldest intact church in Serbia. Built in Byzantine architectural style and founded around 820 during the reign of Prince Radoslav of Serbia, this Serbian Orthodox church underwent additions over subsequent centuries. It served as the ecclesiastical seat of the Serbian church and functioned as both the baptismal church and state council site of the Nemanjić dynasty until the late twelfth century. Now part of the Stari Ras complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Novi Pazar, the church is recognized as an Immovable Cultural Heritage of Exceptional Importance.
