The Church of St Matthias in Malvern Link is an Anglican parish church designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott and completed in 1846. Built to serve the local community, who previously had to walk three miles to worship at St. Edburga's Church in Leigh, the original structure was consecrated by Bishop Pepys of Worcester on 13 January 1847 and seated 300 people at a cost of £1,900. The building underwent significant expansions: a southern extension and tower were added in 1858 and 1862 respectively, followed by a substantial eastward extension in 1880–81 designed by Frederick William Hunt of London and funded largely by Earl Beauchamp. The present tower, completed in 1889, houses a ring of ten bells cast by John Taylor & Co, with the final bell added in 1899 and later bells recast in 1900 and 1993. The chapel screens are notable works by Robert Thompson, the renowned 'mouseman' woodcarver of Kilburn. The church is Grade II listed.
