Colby Hall stands on the campus of Andover Newton Theological School in Newton Centre, Massachusetts, a distinctive structure completed in 1866 that blends Second Empire and Romanesque Revival architectural vocabularies. The building was named for Gardner Colby (1810–79), the school's treasurer and a major benefactor who also endowed Waterville College in Maine, which subsequently took his name. The hall underwent renovation in 1977 by the architectural firm Drummey Rosane Anderson, Inc., to accommodate a design center. Recognized for its historical significance, Colby Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
