Concordia Senior College, a Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod institution in Fort Wayne, Indiana, was designed by architect Eero Saarinen and completed in 1957 as a mid-century modern structure. Founded as an innovative two-year college, it provided specialized pre-seminary training for future pastors during their third and fourth undergraduate years—a novel educational model within the LCMS network. The college operated primarily as an all-male institution, with female students housed separately and no women on the faculty. Though short-lived, closing in 1977 when its pastoral training function was transferred to other LCMS colleges, the campus subsequently became home to the Concordia Theological Seminary, which relocated from Springfield, Illinois.
