The Copenhagen Opera House, located on the island of Holmen in central Copenhagen, is Denmark's national opera house and one of the world's most modern. Designed by architect Henning Larsen and completed in 2005, the building exemplifies neo-futurism in its architectural language. At a cost of 2.5 billion DKK (approximately 370 million USD), it ranks among the most expensive opera houses ever constructed, reflecting both its ambitious design and the substantial investment Denmark made in establishing a flagship cultural institution of contemporary ambition.
