Built in 1902 in Thomas, West Virginia, Cottrill Opera House is a rectangular brick structure whose imposing four-story façade once anchored the town's entertainment district. Originally a vaudeville and movie theater, it became known as Sutton's Opera House or Sutton Theater from 1915 onward. The interior features a generous auditorium with balcony seating, typical of early-twentieth-century performance halls. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, the building now serves as retail space, its theatrical past preserved in its substantial architecture and spatial organization.
