The Daniel House, located at 2701 Woodson Drive in Knoxville, Tennessee, is a distinctive example of Moderne architecture designed by James W. Fitzgibbon in 1948–1949 and constructed by George W. Qualls. The structure was uniquely built into a hillside using salvaged Quonset hut structural supports, and its incorporation of indigenous East Tennessee materials combined with Streamline Moderne styling makes it architecturally notable. The house has undergone multiple renovations since its construction, including a comprehensive restoration documented in Fine Homebuilding magazine in 1986. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998, the Daniel House exemplifies mid-twentieth-century residential innovation in the American South.
