Dawson's Heights is a boldly modernist social housing estate in East Dulwich, London Borough of Southwark, designed by architect Kate Macintosh and completed between 1964 and 1972. Built atop a railway spoil tip, the complex comprises two residential blocks—Bredinghurst and Ladlands—housing 298 split-level dual-aspect maisonettes across twelve floors: 112 one-bedroom, 75 two-bedroom, 81 three-bedroom, and 28 four-bedroom units. Its distinctive ziggurat-like massing was conceived to afford two-thirds of the flats views in both directions, including toward central London. English Heritage praised its "striking and original massing" with evocative echoes of ancient cities and Italian hill towns, though the Secretary of State declined to grant it listed status in 2012. The estate also features a small nature reserve to its north, managed by the Dawson's Hill Trust.
